May be just "legal housekeeping" or maybe more significant in that we will eventually see updated codec support with GPU acceleration. Seems like something to watch.
Probably nothing new. If you want to know what Mainconcept has, just look at their website. Same old stuff vegas has always had, except maybe with HEVC and maybe Quicksync for AVC. Supposedly something is coming in MC HEVC.
I don't think the HEVC in Vegas 14 is Mainconcept. I do not see any obvious Mainconcept copyrights in the DLLs.
In Vegas, Sony AVC already has Quicksync encode support if your system has Quicksync enabled. Quicksync has setup problems if the integrated GPU is not connected to a monitor.
Sounds like we should at least get some updates to those MainConcept encoders, and hopefully updated GPU support for the AVC codec. That could be really significant for many.
I don't think the HEVC in Vegas 14 is Mainconcept.
It's called "Intel HEVC" in the Render As settings.
