Camera shopping

I have recently been shopping around for a new video cam.
I'm looking to buy either a VX2000, GL1 or an XL1.

There are a few places that has very low prices, and I
was wondering if anyone out there was familiar with any of
these companies, and Know if they are legit.

1. A&M Photo World, They have the VX2000 for $1709
and the XL1s for $2609. (pretty low)

2. Broadway photo, their prices are about the same.

3. Family photo & video, Thier prices are a little higher,
but still pretty low

4. Abes of Main, is another that's not bad either

Other companies selling the same cameras are selling
for retail, or higher in some cases. ($2900 - $4600)
Has anyone out there had any luck, (good or bad) with
any of these companies.

I seen the adds in the back of several video magazines
and on the web.

Any input will be greatly appreciated.

As I see, you seem to be looking for a place in US, have you tried B&H in NYCity? They got good prices... their web site is very nice too for info and specs on products...

got my GL-1 from Abe's of Maine because they had a good price. they'll try to sell you crappy stuff when you call to place your order. just get the camera... the prices weren't good for accessories and the battery they sold me is totally cheezy. the shipping was very expensive but it was right around christmas and I needed 2nd day so I'll reserve judgement there... all in all they performed as expected, nothing more. I would purchase from them again if they had a good price for another big item, but I'd look around first.

Make sure the price quoted for the xl1s includes a lens,, sounds a little too good to me, close to a thousand low,the price of a lens
