Can DVDA convert MP3 to AC3-5.1?

I've given DVDA an MP3 file and it of course says that it wants to compress the file. I've told it to do so as an AC3-5.1, but the results are always 2.1. WHY?

Won't DVDA just send the same left and right signals to the rear channels?

Am I missing something?

You know what? Why bother letting DVDA2 do it anyways. It takes so little time, I just figured I'd do it in Vegas. It provides more control over things anyway.
