Can I Capture in NON Open DML AVI 2?

In order to use my video in Illusion, a particle effects program, I have to first render another version where I uncheck the video option that says "Create an open DML (AVI version 2.0)compatable file" It would be SO nice if I could capture in that mode right from the start and not have to change the AVI format before going into my other video programs. Is there any way to make it capture this way? In AVI 1, not AVI 2? My cam is a Sony DCR-TRV-30, if that helps!

Scenalyzer Live will capture to Type 1 or Type 2 files and break longer captures at the 2Gig or 4Gig point into separate files. It is very inexpensive ($33) and works very well. It can also capture the second stereo audio channel which VV currently cannot do. The newest demo is available at:

DVIO also captures to Type 1 and 2. And it's freeware.

This is off the topic, but...You did a video about two guys that grew up in northern Wisconson. Is that video posted somewhere on the internet for viewing?

I'm interested because I frequent the area some, matter of fact I'm going fishing up there in a couple of weeks.

I checked that ap out and it worked. Very nice ap! I will most likely purchase it, but want to find my VV2 disk first and try what GG said. SteveDV: The DVIO could not locate my DVcam Output pin...would not work. Rats.
