Grazie,

Try this:
1. In the Trimmer, hit "save markers to media file" button
(or better yet, check "automatically save markers to media file" in preferences)

2. Drag 'n' drop from the trimmer to the timeline.

3. Run the "Promote Markers" script.

Any good?

Should work. You may have to click on the "Save Markers/Regions" icon in the trimmer before you run the "Promote Markers" script.
