can I save volume envelope points?

As I work with my timeline, I often move entire pieces of work ("select events to end") back and forth, but the volume envelope points are left in their original place on the timeline. Is there a way I can get the volume points to follow along as I move the clips they are associated with?

Yes, right next to the Ripple button in your toolbar is Lock Envelopes To Events. Click that and things should stay together.
