Just a regular CD. whether it will play on your DVD player will depend a lot on your player. You can check your player compatability at www.vcdhelp.com The site is also a source of a lot of information with regards to VCD & SVCD.

Be careful with the brand of CDR.....there is a difference. I had a stack of Imation brand that I was using for audio, and when I tried them for a VCD, I got allot of digital blocking. The Fuji brand I switched to works perfectly, so there is a difference!
