If you have the Pinnacle codec installed on your machine, you should be able to open the file in Vegas. We have had many reports of problems with Pinnacle drivers and we do not officially support any Pinnacle hardware product, but some users have been able to get them to work.

Thanks. In the Vegas trial version, when I attempt to open a Pinnacle-produced AVI file, all I get is the audio part of the file, a blank monitor and a message about a "streaming error" - it seems some kind of AVI conversion may be necessary?

Any suggestions welcome. Thanks.

Is the Pinnacle codec installed on the same machine as Vegas (demo)?

Also, I guarantee that if you try to use the DC10 with Vegas you will be disappointed. They do not play nicely together unless you happen to have the right set of Pinnacle drivers for your OS. Please don't ask which driver- their drivers change constantly and we have had terrible luck getting the DC10 to work in any configuration.

Ok - thanks for that. I think I'll give it up. Shame, since I like the look of Vegas.
