Can I use s-video out as preview monitor???

I'm running 8.1 on Vista 64 and I have a dual monitor card with a 4 pin s-video out (ati radeon hd 2400).
Before I buy an s-video to RCA adapter I need to know if I can run my dual monitors AND run the s-video to a TV and use it as my preview. In other words can I just select Windows secondary monitor in V8.1 and enable this function? May be a dumb question but I'm feeling pretty dumb lately.
Thanks,
Randy

Not a dumb question at all and the answer depends on your graphics card. Most dual-head cards are limited to two simultaneous signals even though they have more outputs. I believe what you will find is that your graphics card will drive the secondary monitor OR the S-Video out but NOT both at the same time.

Thanks JR,
I've googled all morning (for ATI RADEON HD2400 xt manual users guide review) but can't determine if it has the capability to do both or not so I guess I'll just have to buy the cable to find out.
For the last few years I've been using my JVC SR-VS30 deck for the preview but Vista 64 is complaining it can't find drivers for it.... but if V8.1 has the capability to utilize the S-video out along with the dual monitor (if the card is capable) then maybe I should go that route since I don't use the deck for capture anymore (I capture through the camera due to the deck pixelating frames occasionally.)
Thanks again Jr,
Randy
