Can import OBS mp4 videos into MSP 13.0 any longer

Any help appreciated.

I used to have no problems with this. I would record with OBS, all video's where saved as .mp4 and then open up Movie studio 13 and I could just drag and drop them into my timeline and edit and compile with NO problems.

Today I make a recording and when I drag it over to timeline it locks up movie studio, if I let it sit for awhile it just makes the video and audio a green color like it cant convert it. Other times it just puts the audio in the timeline, and no video.

Is there a codec pack, new video format or something i can do to make this work again? Do I need to run the video files through another program to make them useable in MSP 13.0?

ATM I've resorted to playing them in VLC player and recording them again, and using the VLC recording and dropping that into movie studio.

Anyways any way to get movie studio to stop being so damn picky? I had no problem with this 3 days ago.

Sir, your files are transport streams. The may or may not open in an editor depending on the number and severity of transport stream errors. Opening and playing acceptably in VLC is no indication of the number or severity of transport stream errors, as such players are designed to fudge and disguise errors on the fly, as opposed to unpacking full bits for editing and encoding, which is often impossible..

The go-to solution for many of us facing this issue with pvr source is called VideoRedo. There is a free trial, 30 days I believe.

Why would I pay for or download a program to fix a problem that I wasn't having 3 days ago?

Does nobody else use OBS? It is the most popular streaming platform, if you're streaming to twitch so I would assume other people here use it to record with. Does anybody else have trouble importing .mp4 into MSP 13?

I was not having any of these problems for over a year and 3 days ago bam. Can't import any obs recordings to Movie studio 13.

Something must have changed 3 days ago.

Windows update, update drivers, update OBS, add new program, delete program, move a file to a different drive?

Do you have the option to restore to 3 days ago?

Tyler,
One file, having fewer or less-severe transport stream errors, opened in Vegas for you. Goody! I would say 80% of mine do.

Another file, having more or more-severe transport stream errors, especially ones with corrupt i-frames, b-pyramid frames, or index errors (ever hear of those?) need to be fixed before they will open in an EDITOR. Imagine that. Before recording anything else, you may want to reboot your modem / router to see if it fixes the problem.

TRANSPORT STREAMS are not PROGRAM STREAMS. If you will be so kind as to do an internet search of those two specific editing terms, posts such as the one two up should become unnecessary. Hint: Merely wrapping a TS as PS will not fix any of the errors. If it makes any difference whatsoever, I've been doing this for a couple of decades.

Best.
