Can not Import PAL Streams and Corrupted ac3 encodes in pal

I found that I can not import a PAL program stream into V5.

I tried a PAL DV file rendered out in virtualdubMOD with the MC dv codec (from a mpeg parsed file)

i tried using a mpeg rendered out of vegas and procoder, multiplexed with and without audio and video rendered with audio mpeg audio in vegas ...

no mater what - i get one of any number of error messages:

"none of the files ... can not be opened"

"an error occured when importing the EDL file "SB_PAL.mpg"

"low system memory to perform this operation" (there is gobs of memory -- the msg was something like this anyway)

"an error occured when importing the EDL file "SB_PAL.mpg - unknown format"

"Unable to parse line #10: "1" "

importing a NTSC or HD file === no problems at all .. no mater if mpeg or DV or other codec ..

going to reboot and see if that issue will still be there (this has happened all day today)

Second error --

i got pal into vegas by frame serving it in -- no problem that way oddly enough ..

i was sync'ng several channel of audio wav files to this film (changed frame rate) , which involved and lot of time stretching and such -- everthing was all sync'd up and played back perfectly from the time line ..
Rendered to an ac3 file and went fine - no errors ...

played BACK this ac3 file and all it was was massive digital noise .. totally fubared .. Of course stupid me had not saved project veg ..

Yes - Odd! I'm wondering if this is a PAL thing that has been overlooked by the creators? It would be good to see if NTSC users experience the same too . . Folders - virtual or real - are a dark art to me. I've experienced problems with BINS - I know a different issue but I feel naming folders or renaming folders is a bit "icky" - yeah?
