Running Vegas Pro 22 version 22.20.0, when I tried to use an AI, I was told I needed to update. Ran the update, but then it would not install, saying "Unexpected error was encountered, installation could not be successfully finished."

You don't say, but I am guessing Win11?

Check your Windows Security --> Protection History for any folders that are blocked. If so, add an exception.

A recent update seems to have added a block rule for %userprofile% et. al.

If it is something else look at your Reliabilty History or Event Log for clues.
