Can not use Sound Forge as audio editor.

In Vegas preferences I have placed Sound Forge as audio editor. It is accepted, but when I try to open Sound Forge as audio editor from within Vegas Home Studio it can not open the audio track of the selected clip. Has anyone encountered the same problem? Is there a solution? Thanks.

What type of audio is it?

Try "open copy in" instead and see if that works.

In this project I have used two cameras. One of them captures in AVI and the other one in MPEG. In Vegas when I try to use the audio editor for AVI files it works, for MPEG files it does not, but I tried as you suggested to open a copy of the file it worked.

Probably the audio from the MPEG camera is AC3 and Sound Forge won't open that. When you "open copy", Vegas renders out a .wav version for Sound Forge to use.
