Can't change project folder anymore?

I noticed that this new version (9.0) of Vegas creates a default folder under My Documents in Windows called "Vegas Movie Studio PE 9.0 Projects".

There doesn't seem to be a way to change this folder wihin the Preferences dialogs. Why not? I have a separate folder I use for all projects and it always goes to the default folder it created first when opening or saving projects.

Any ideas? Can I force it in the registry maybe? This would be a good feature to add in an upcoming release.

You're not alone. This seems to be a growing trend across the Sony product line. Maybe it has to do with Vista compliance or something. I hate it. Join us in complaining and submit a product suggestion.

On the other hand, i always create a new directory for each project so having a default folder isn't very useful for me anyway.

The next time you create a new project, first browse to the folder that you want to hold your projects. The new parent folder should be remembered for your future projects.

Thanks for your suggestion to allow the default project folder path to be edited in preferences. I'll add that as a VMS 9 feature request.

You are absolutely correct...it does remember the last project folder location...thanks, this is convenient.

Now being a former software engineer and QA expert, let me suggest that you suggest to the developers that if they change this behavior and add an option to set the project folder, that it be a checkbox that says something like:
"Always use this folder as the project folder. If this box is unchecked Vegas will remember the last folder used as the project folder". Then of course, they will need the standard folder path box and browse button.

Thanks!
