can't customize Main concept DV

I was editing on a friend's computer and it had the MainConcept Digital Video Codec installed.

I was using Vegas 4 but I couldn't customize the output mpeg 2 file.

If a render a avi to mpeg2 using the main concept plugin/encoder and press custom, nothing happens.

My only options were the presets. It doesn't show the options like when you render to other formats (avi, mov, wmv...). It doesn't even opens a new window with the options.

Is this supposed to happen?

thank you

daniel

You have to make an edit in Windows Registry. For some reason sometimes the Serial number gets duplicated. Search through these forums for the specifics.

There seems to be a problem with that, and it has nothing to do with registration. I fixed the problem after reading one of the threads here (can't remember exactly which). Look in your registry, and make sure it only has these entries, and nothing else. I do remember that one additional entry has to be deleted. Back up the branch (export) before you delete, so you can restore if things mess up.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sonic Foundry\MC MPEG Plug-In\1.0\License]
"CurrentKey"="XX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX"
"InstFlags"=dword:00000010

(you shoud see letters and digits instead of the X's here...)
