can't force render?

Hi,
I'm mainly an audio user but I did search and found nothing similar... We cannot get Vegas 11 to render properly. It always tries to smart render or not render in spite of each clip being set to force render. There are always errors in the renders! I've been waiting 3 weeks on one tech ticket and 2.5 months on another with no reply. NO REPLY!
I'm hoping (as usual) the user community is smarter than sony. Any suggestions? We're mainly working with techsmith avi files and rendering to the same.

Add an effect that has no effect maybe. Like, B&W set to 0.000. If that doesn't work then setting it to 0.001 should be an imperceptible change. Another possibility is to add a text track with a text even that stretches across the entire timeline containing just a space character, or a solid gradient set to 0% opacity.
