Quasi part was it’s a mask,either neg or positive you can’t have a mask both ways
I guess what Byron was asking how to get the mask to effect the layer so that the neg bit is transparent

Actually I was able to do this in Platinum 9, thanks to OhMyGosh's assistance, but I;ve found that it's easier and more elegant in Pro 9. (:

Since the release of 9a, I was able to complete my first video using multiple track motion tracks (rendering as I write this). It's by no means anywhere as nice as yours xfx. (;
