Can't get menu to play files burned to 2nd layer of disk

Ok, I'm stumped and tried everything. I'm burning a duel layer disk because my video is longer than 4.7 GB. I've followed the instructions to set break points and end action. When I burn the disk and try to click on chapters that would be on the 2nd layer of the disk, it locks up and won't play. If I auto play the disk not using the menu it also will not play past the break point. I'm wasting disks like crazy. Any ideas other than splitting my video and using 2 disks?

Have you done it successfully before? 2 Layered burned disks have always been a challenge. How much over 4.7 is the video? I have successfully used DVD Shrink with minimal, if any, loss of quality to get a Video down to fit on a single layer disk.

I'm new to this so I haven't successfully done it before. It's at 4.8GB so it's close.

You have a couple of options. 1) Re-render the video or portion at a lower bitrate. There are bitrate calculators that will help online. 2) Use a program like DVD Shrink to make it fit. This requres that you build the DVD to a folder on your harddrive and then run DVD Shrink which will repackage it to fit on 4.7.

@kimberly-e As DMT3 said "Layered burned disks have always been a challenge". It could be the discs or your burner. Does your burner have its latest firmware?
