Can't get print to tape work

I choose the video file I want, hell I even see it playing on my MiniDV cam, and it says PRINTING TO TAPE, but the resulting tape has nothing on it. In fact, I listen next to the MiniDV cam while it's "taping" and don't hear a thing so I don't think it's recording. Am I doing anything wrong? The tape is new and not write protected.

If you've got another cammie or device try an initial test on that before lifting the hood of Vegas or anything else - yeah?

You can see the actual footage, that means that the signal IS reaching the cammie. Have you disabled the DV Control option in Print To Tape? When you print to tape you have the option of Manually starting and stopping the cammie . Do you think you inadvertedly hit the Manual control option?

DV control WAS disabled. I have to do that when capturing from my VCR thru my camera.

Thank you so much.

Unrelated question. The AVI file I am capturing to tape was recorded at 48khz. When printing to tape, will it be saved as 48khz, regardless of what the camera is set to tape at?
