Can't Hear Audio When Capturing

Hello,
I just got a DSR- 11 deck. When play back a tape fromt he capture window, i get no audio through the computer speakers but it is capturing the audio.. it's there qwhen i drag the clip into vegas. I just can't hear it. I think this might be due to the M-Audio mobile Pre USB breakout that i am using for a sound card... i dont think this has to do with the decl because i think anythign i try to capture with gives the same results... and suggestions? Shouldnt i be hearing the audio from my computer speakers?

You should be hearing the audio, but how do you have your audio set up in your Control Panel/Sounds and Audio Devices? If you don't have the M-Audio as the default, you'll not hear during capture.

WOW... how did i miss that one???...
I just figured it was already set for that because it was playing back audio everywhere else... thanks for the help!!!
