Can't import + can't open regions-beginner, please help

Hi,

I received a video with subtitles already done in Vegas Pro 18.0. I need to edit the text but I can't even open/import the project, I get the message "missing file". I tried even with right click on file name, "edit in Vegas". Could you, please, let me know what I do wrong, and also, once I manage to open the .veg file, how do I make the regions appear in the top left window, so that I see each region separately? Thank you.

First off, what version and build of Vegas Pro are you using? If its pre VP18, a VP18 project is not going to open.

Next, do you have all media from the original project in exactly the same named drives and folders as they were in the original project?

how do I make the regions appear in the top left window, so that I see each region separately?

Sorry, but I have no idea what you mean by that. Please fully explain.

@lau, it would be helpful if you would put the VEG file somewhere we can download and test with.

Are you looking for View - Window - Edit Details?

Hi Dexcon,

I am using Vegas Pro 18.0, too. You were right about the files not being in the same folder.

I think I misunderstood something. I realized it's when we click Project Media that those regions appear, but now that the video could be opened, the region lane is in the timeline and it's there that I could edit the text. Thank you!

Hi Jetdv,

Yes, you were right, it's clicking Project Media which makes regions appear when the video is loaded normally. Thank you, and also for your offer that I should upload it for you to test! Fortunately, now it works.
