Can't Install VMS 10 in Boot Camp

I run Boot Camp on my desktop computer, and I used Movie Studio 9 on that computer with no problems. When I tried to install version 10, I got this message: "This operating system is not supported. Please see system requirements for more information." Audio Studio 10 installed with no problems on this computer.

There is no issue with the installation file because Movie Studio Platinum 10 installed fine on my MacBook laptop, which is also running Boot Camp. To make sure there wasn't something wrong with the Windows setup on my desktop, I went so far as to reformat the disk and reinstall Windows XP and my Boot Camp drivers but it didn't help.

The only difference I can think of between the Desktop and the laptop is that the MacPro runs XP Professional and the laptop runs XP Home Edition.

It's very puzzling how it works fine on my laptop and not my Mac Pro Desktop. I also run lots of other Sony Programs there, like Acid and Sound Forge.

By the way, I contacted Sony Tech support and the guy said they don't support Intel Macs. I can't find any warnings on the site about this.

What Service Pack are you running on XP? VMS10 requires SP3, that could be your problem.

According to an entry in Wikipedia, Boot Camp 2.1+ is needed for XP SP3 support.

The Mac Intels seem to be somewhat different.

I have a Mac Pro 2 x Xeons. It worked well under Bootcamp and XP prof. but when I installed Windows 7 I just skipped Bootcamp and installed it directly - as Win 7 supports the EFI "bios" - and as Windows 7 fetched the needed drivers directly from the internet.

On my Mac Mini - which ran Win XP perfectly under Bootcamp, I could not, however, install Win 7 at all.
With or without Bootcamp.
So I had to put Leopard on it and then from there install Win 7 - which works well now also.

My next machines will not be Mac Intels - because the prices are not competitive any more - and because I do not like having absolutely no control over the hardware (i.e. for overclocking etc)
