Can't modify audio part of a video clip

Howdy,

I usually don't post questions, try to find other posts to solve my issue, but this one is just giving me a headache.
The usual data in my signature, but if additional info needed let me know. (sorry if too long)
A few months ago upgraded to VP pro suit 22 from 14. In VP pro 14 I could right click audio part and select open copy in audio editor and make some changes when I saved and exited SF 12, the audio clip updated instantly. Or I just make some changes within VP (like normalize) and see the result right there and then.
With VP 22 I can't do that. I open a copy in SF18 and make changes (make mono stereo or normalize, etc) save and exit nothing happens. Audio part stays the same. Or I right click the clip and chose SWITCH then normalize, nothing happens. I save VP project and exit then reload again audio has not change. I have no volume envelopes or 3rd party FX just plain audio of a video clip. Am I doing something wrong? Please help if you have a solution. Thanks in advance.
Mike

@johnny-s, yes that option is checked on. Either way it does the same. Maybe I should have waited a month or two to upgrade to 23. So this problem does not happen to anyone else? Right clicking audio clip and making any change is possible (in VP Pro 22, SF 18)?
