I don't know what I did wrong - but, setting up to record a concert and noticed that I could not monitor audio coming through from the mixer to the sound card. I could see the signal on the meters, did a test recording and could play it back - levels were fine.
Nothing I did would restore my ability to hear the sound that was moving the meters.
FWIW, I have two sound cards - tried switching playback to each one - simply no joy. Checked to make certain nothing was muted in the sounds setting in the control panel.
Just totally stumped.
Recorded the two-hour concert relying totally on the meters and monitoring by way of my mixer board.
Got everything home and the recording sounds fine - but, it was a bit unnerving not to be able to confirm with my ears what was hitting the sound card.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
