I have tried all the solutions on this forum and on others to open mov file in VEGAS PRO 14 but no way to open it. I have installed all quicktime versions, i have tried to install QTLite, but it's impossible to open mov file.
What is wrong with vegas 14 ? With vegas 13, I havn't this problem. Now I need to open mov files and I cant, I'm blocked in my project !!

Install QuickTime 7.7.9 for Windows. It will surely help.

Yes, MediaInfo is fine for analyzing which codecs are used.
Also if you open such a file in QuicktimePlayer there should be a menu option in the player which displays stream properties.
Some of the QT/MOV files created by some cameras (like JVC) will NOT open in any version of Vegas. You have to convert them into something else. My Canon DSLR MOV files open with no issue, but I have had trouble with others. QT PRO will convert them into a "universal mov file" which begs the question on why the MOV file isn't universally compatible, but that's how it is. I own the Adobe Creative Suite and I convert them into an h.264 mp4 and that solves the issue for me.
My mov files have been created with SONY VEGAS pro 13 because I needed some transparent videos.
