Can't open Soundforge 7 in Vegas 12

I have Soundforge 7 set as my audio editor in VP12, but when I attempt to select "Open copy in Soundforge" from the Vegas timeline I get the error message referenced in the subject line. Is it because SF7 is 32 bit? I'm on Win7 64 bit.

What Build number of SV12? Are you sure you've setup the link to the SF exe?

I think I know why it is doing this. When I launch SF7 outside of Vegas I get the Win7 UAC message "Do you want to allow the following program from an unknown publisher to make changes to this computer?". I suspect this is causing the problem with launching from within VP12. I know I could disable UAC but I prefer not to. I haven't yet figured how to fix this for this one application. I did check the EXE properties and all items on the compatibility tab are unchecked, as is recommended by the sources I found via google. Any one here experienced and fixed this issue?
