Can't read Mpeg2 video

I have a bunch of mpeg2 video, all my family films. Looks great in Cakewalk's Sonar and reads in everything I have except VideoFactory. I've loaded 2.0c and purchased the mpeg2 plugin but it still tells me the file is an unsupported format. I've verified that the format is straight mpeg2 720x480 29.97 frame rate. All standard.

Sounds like the source file was created with a different codec. I run into this once in awhile. Almost always VirtualDub will be able to open the file. A extra step, but VD renders 3-5 faster than VV, so making a AVI as a prestep don't take too long. I usually get about 95 frames a second rendering from MPEG to AVI in VD without any filters applies.
