Can't record audio in Timeline - Audio is missing

I use Movie Studio Platinum 17.0 and have made a lot of videos the last few years whereby I record my voiceover in the timeline. But suddenly now it isn't working any more. When I record audio with my USB Microphone, as I always have done, and I playback there is audio missing. Always around 35 seconds the audio stops, the timeline is still moving, and then the audio returns. Leaving me with gaps of complete silence in my audio recording!!! I recorded audio in SoundForge and the Voice recorder from Windows 10 but they work fine. Only Timeline recording gives me those gaps. What to do?

Maybe choose another place to record them, with a lot of space and memory with this option?

After many hours of searching in vain. It looks like it has to do with location indeed. But my HD has 3.5 Terrabyte left, so it can't be the storage. I found out that this HD has a Backup Function to my Synology NAS. The instant that I record audio it directly begins to backup the file. Vegas somehow doesn't like this. I cancelled backup for that folder where I store my voiceover audio when recording and the problem seems to vanish. I cannot trust anymore on this solution because I tried many things. So let's test it a week. And I'll let you know in the Forum.
