You'll need to re-register the AC3 plugin.

Where do I go to do that. It tells me to buy it or enter a serial number. I enter the vegas number...and the dvd number...but I get a message for both saying they are invalid.

Go to the "My Account - My Software section of this site (at the top of this page) and confirm that the serial number(s) is/are correct.

They are correct

EDIT: Also, I just tried to open my DVDA2 and it keeps asking me to register it. So, I did, about 5 times; so everytime I open DVDA2 it tells me to register in order to use it. After I register it opens up and says "expires in 28 days"

What is going on with my software????

From Answer ID #449:

Serial number or activation code no longer works.

Question:
My serial number doesn't work on my new computer or once I have reinstalled Windows. My old activation code will not work either.

Answer:
Your serial number will always grant you access to the program. This is the number printed on the first page of your user's manual or sent to you via e-mail when you completed your downloadable purchase. If you are having a problem with your serial number not being accepted into the program, please make sure you are not entering an old activation code. Serial numbers are formatted as follows: XX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX, whereas activation codes are XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX.

If you reinstall Windows or install the program on a different computer your activation code will no longer work. Please register the program again using your original serial number. You can do so using the registration wizard within the program, via the website form, or via the telephone at 800-577-6642.
