After installing the .NET framework, uninstall and reinstall Vegas.

Ah - update Ed. I had to send back my pc to the NLE constructors. They then had the opportunity to download .NET from MS. This was done after the V4 install. They tested the pc and the scripts, and it works.

Here's a dumb question: is there a specific link on the MS site to get the .NET framework? I did a search on it earlier, and all I could find was the SDK kit for it.

It's best to get .Net through Windows Update..... I don't know that it's possible to get it through a normal download.

Ouch. My computer that runs Vegas is doesn't have an internet connection available. Thanx for all the suggestions, though.

You can download the .NET framework on ANY computer that has an internet connect, burn it to CD, and then install it on the other computer. That's they way I've done it on ALL my editing computers. The download is about 20 MEG.

Try this link:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/netframework/downloads/howtoget.asp

Thanks for the link, jetdv. I did manage to find the install file for .NET. Helped a lot, now Vegas runs scripts!

Many Thanks

I am new to Vegas and really, really new to the "Vegas Scripting" feature but am unable to get it to work. (error - says I need to install .net framewrok)
I actually had two (2) different versions of .net framework installed on my machine but then uninstalled both and re-installed V.1.1 fresh and STILL get the error message from Vegas that I need to install .NET Framework.

I have Vegas V.4e currently installed but am considering an uninstall and reverting back to V.4d to accomodate a couple of addins. (Excaliber, etc.)

I guess I'm missing something here. I could use some help.

And BTW, how do you insert an active URL link in a post?

After installing the .NET Framework, uninstall and reinstall Vegas and all will be fine.

This will make scripting work but you can just reinstall 4.0e. Excalibur will work fine with 4.0e. I also have an update for Tsunami so it will work with 4.0e which I hope to have posted soon at Zenote.

And BTW, how do you insert an active URL link in a post?

Using standard HTML (A HREF command).

jetdv,

Thanks for the response, however, what I just did was re-install / repair Vegas V.4.0e and that didn't help at all.

I then installed V.4.0d over V.4.0e and the scripting now works fine.

Curiously, after the V.4.0d install, the program retains the "Sony" name and the "about" screen still calls it V.4.0e.

(Windows XP Pro)

It requires an UNINSTALL/Reinstall - not a "repair" install.

I then installed V.4.0d over V.4.0e and the scripting now works fine.

Not sure if that's a wise move. Not sure how the two would interrelate. I guess if it's working, then I would leave it alone.

Ed,

Thanks for your input. I'll surely let you know if "Tsunami" doesn't work with this deal.

I really need to change that to some other format. *I* don't even use real anymore.

Tsunami DOES require an update for 4.0e. Contact me directly for more information.
