Can't use event pan/crop or event F/X

When I click on either of the above icons on whatever media I have on the timeline it doesn't open as it should.

Event Pan/Crop does nothing, while Event F/X opens the plug-in chooser,adds the selected plug-in to the chain but does not open it up so I can adjust the parameters, although it does change the F/X icon to green.

It feels like I've altered something somewhere, but I can't for the life of me think where - all advice gratefully received!
Sorry should have said - version 11/595 64 bit - and it was all working fine 'til a couple of hours ago!

Hi,

it looks like you have the corresponding panels hidden by something else (which may occur for instance if you have resized other panels in such a way they are too big compared to the space available for others).

So you might try to check/uncheck the items listed in the View menu.

Or click on the small black triangle box on the top left corner of other panels (right below the small cross), such as preview or the trimmer.

I'd look for the dialog underneath the start bar.

Thanks Frederic,

I can confirm that I've checked the view options and they appear to work normally in all other respects except for the event pan and event f/x windows as mentioned.

I'll admit to getting caught by the "where's that window gone" on previous occasions, but it seems to be diffferent this time!

Thanks for your advice and help, they're really appreciated - any more ideas?

Jetdv is right: another option is that you inadvertently undocked the FX panel, and then dragged it in the bottom of your screen, below the Windows task bar.

You may check that by the animation that happens when you click the FX button or the Pan/Crop button on your event: an animated frame goes from these buttons up to the place where the panel is located.

To restore this, make the Microsoft Windows task bar automatically masked (from its property sheets). Then wait for it to disappear. You should then see the title bar of FX panel (partially) appear in the bottom of your screen. Then you may click it and drag it at a more regular location.
