Can U control Vasst scripts with Mackie?

Howdy...

I have the Vasst Ultimate S package, and love the multicam features, but I wish I had more buttons on my keyboard to assign to the script controls.

I also have a Mackie Control, but I can't figure out a way to control the camera switching in Ultimate S with those buttons.

Anyone know how to assign this?

Thanks,

Ben

It is a two step process. You can only control scripts with keyboard presses. So what you do is program the Mackie to press the keyboard for you. For example, assign Cut to Camera 1 (Camera1Cut.js) to be Ctrl+1. Then assign a button on the Mackie to generate Ctrl+1. When you press the Mackie button, it will run the script.

We have done some of this for you. If you check in your "C:\Program Files\VASST\Ultimate S2" folder you will find a file called VegasKeyMap.ini. this file has the following assignments already made:

Script.VASST Ultimate S2.UltimateS=Ctrl+0
Script.VASST Ultimate S2.CameraChange.Camera1Cut=Ctrl+1
Script.VASST Ultimate S2.CameraChange.Camera2Cut=Ctrl+2
Script.VASST Ultimate S2.CameraChange.Camera3Cut=Ctrl+3
Script.VASST Ultimate S2.CameraChange.Camera4Cut=Ctrl+4
Script.VASST Ultimate S2.CameraChange.Camera1Dissolve=Ctrl+5
Script.VASST Ultimate S2.CameraChange.Camera2Dissolve=Ctrl+6
Script.VASST Ultimate S2.CameraChange.Camera3Dissolve=Ctrl+7
Script.VASST Ultimate S2.CameraChange.Camera4Dissolve=Ctrl+8
Script.VASST GearShift.GearShift=Ctrl+9

In Vegas use Options > Preferences > Keyboard and press the Import... button to load these key combinations.

...and then do I use the external control settings to assign the buttons to keyboard shortcuts?

Thanks for the reply. Great support as always.
