can vegas 2.0 files be opened by vegas 4.0?

Does anyone know if you can open vegas2.0 .veg files in vegas4.0? I downloaded the beta of 4.0 and it doesn't seem to appear to open 2.0 files.

Is this because it's a beta version of 4.0?
