With V3 and V4, this was certainly possible.

Initially some wanted to finish already started projects in V3, but once it was found that there were no problems continuing the same project in 4, I don't think I ever opened V3 again!

(Incidentally, it's been Monday morning here in Perth for 11 hours - ah well, I guess it's going to be Terrific Tuesday instead of Magic Monday for us!)

I have both installed on my system and haven't had any problems. I'm just the web guy though, so I don't know how "official" this is. :)

Does Vegas 5 have any problems with SP2 RC1 for XP that might stop someone from registering for a trial version? Not that I have the software or anything, just curious.

4 and 5 living happily together here as well...

I have 2,3 and 4 installed (DON'T ASK! :) and have never had any issues. I would hope 5 is similarly friendly.

Install is fine, just have a problem trying to register for the trial. It says connecting to server and just hangs forever.

Registration took about 15 minutes on hi-speed here, but it eventually finished.

Ok cool. I thought SP2 for XP was screwing stuff up.
