Can Vegas do animated HUD boxes for pan/zoom?

I have been looking into making a video that has a satellite zoom effect (which is easy enough with pan/zoom) but I would like to also display lined "boxes" in a kind of Heads Up Display (HUD) like this video:

Can Vegas paint geometrical objects like that onto a video which I could overlay on the video and then zoom right to the borders of it to produce that effect?

I have Vegas Movie Studio 11 (I can check the version when I'm at my desk later if necessary).

Yes, but it's probably not worth the effort involved.

Far better, simpler, easier, and faster to make a still image with the box shapes you want on a transparent background in your favorite image editor, then layer that image on top of your video in Vegas.
