Morning,
Besides Vegas, we also use Nuendo and recently - a few folks have discovered - to their ultimate disappointment that the new version of Nuendo has a design flaw where very long recordings (say 128 tracks @ 2-3hours at a time) use a gigantic amount of system RAM to create the peak files (to draw the waveforms) and in many cases - if a machine is not running Windows 7 64 bit with a huge amount of RAM - the RAM eventually runs out to the point of failure.
Steinberg claims it's by design - so I am trying to get a feel for how Vegas would handle this situation. Anyone using (or have used) Vegas for large multi-track recordings for several hours in length?
Cheers!
VP
