Can Vegas Movie Studio open old Pro 12 .veg files?

I have Vegas Movie Studio 17 Platinum, and am learning the basics. I have a learning DVD from Vegas Pro 12. Steve Grissetti. The exercise files are saved as .veg. Can VMS open old .veg files. I can open the tutorial videos for learning, but wish to use the attached training files saved as .veg. Is that facility available please. I know Pro can read .vf files

Movie Studio can't open any Vegas Pro project. This only works vice versa.
