can Vegas Movie Studio Upgrade to Sony Vegas 12

all right so i have Vegas Movie Studio Movie studio HD Platinum 11 and i was wondering if i can upgrade to the Sony Vegas Pro 12 Upgrade pack. and it says (Upgrade any professional version of Vegas (Vegas Pro, Vegas Audio, or Vegas Video, Vegas, or Vegas+DVD) to Vegas Pro 12) now isnt Vegas Video Vegas movie? so i tried my code multiple times but it didn't register. so am i mistaken or do i need to call sony to try to get this worked out.. also i have not used the code before for a different upgrade. so if you guys could help me out that would be great thanks.

Vegas Movie Studio isn't considered the "professional" version of Vegas. You need the upgrade path from Vegas Movie Studio to Vegas Pro 12:

Long ago, Vegas Pro was called "Vegas Video" when they first added support for editing video. The program started life as strictly an audio editing program. When the "home" version was created, it was originally called "Screenblast Studio" or something like that. Eventually the home version got the name Vegas as well, and eventually the professional version got the "Pro" designation.

Sony do occasionally run specials for upgrading from Movie Studio to Pro -- but not very often.

thank you for your help i was thinking of upgrading if i could get the first upgrade path witch was only $200 put i see that i can do that so i would have to pay the $500 but thanks for your help guys.

You can buy a full licensed copy of Vegas 12 Pro on Amazon for around $289.
