Can Vegas simply passthru copy the MP4 audio track?

I'm using Vegas Movie Studio 13 (Basic)
After editing my mp4 GoPro video, I noticed my audio track was different. Quieter.
It was not the identical copied audio.
AVIDemux gives an option to copy the audio and not render it again.
Does Vegas have this option?

No. AAC audio will get re-encoded when you render.

Vegas has lots of tools to make your audio louder.

Can you be more specific how I can control audio?
Where are all these tools you speak of?

All I see is the DB slider to the left of the audio track. It goes to +12db.

For more tools you need the Platinum version.
You only see this Volume sliders

Must be enough if your audio is too weak.
