Can you drop out color for mask?

The only advantage that VideoWave has over VideoFactory is that you can drop out a color to do bluescreen masks and such. As far as I can see- we can only do the preset masks w/ some altering to the size/shape.

It does not seem VideoFactory has the ability to do a dropout color mask? Am I just overlooking something?

Let me guess at the answer, "currently, no. VideoFactory does not have this feature, but Vegas does!!"

Thanks in advance!

Your guess is spot on.

If upgrading to Vegas is not in your immediate plans (but worth it eventually, IMHO), you could produce individual scenes you want to chromakey in VW, then import those scenes, one at a time, into VF. Just don't produce an NTSC video with more than one scene in VW, or else you'll end up with the infamous audio sync bug... well, you know.

If you can’t afford to upgrade to Vegas and you really need this feature in VideoFactory, you could always purchase the Sony version of VideoFactory called ScreenBlast VideoFactory for $69. According to the www.screenblast.com web site, it comes with a chroma-key plugin. Too bad SoFo doesn’t offer this in its version of VF. Maybe VF3?

Or why not sell the plugin separately? On the other hand it might reduce the gap between VV and VF to the point where people don't need the upgrade.
