2 queations -VMS 10HD

I am building a video and have a few mins of time line that I need to "store" some where and return it to the time line later - can this be done with out rendering this area of the time line -for example saving as a seperate .vf file and then adding it back in later where I want it..`Can .vf files be combined? Is there a reasonable way to do this or is rendering the part I need to remove and return about the only way ??
Is it reasonable to make this edited subject a "Group" and just stick it way out on the time line and hope that a ripple dose not destroy it ??
Thanks, K

You need Pro to put together project files under a single project. However, what you can do on Platinum is open two windows with the two projects open, and then copy/paste a whole timeline to the other.

Wow -that is great.. Do I need to worry about generated media files maybe not being in both windows ??

Not sure, but you can try it out, although I think these are copied too.

Tried it. Worked like a charm ! !The 2nd window opened with the same Explorer and Project Media windows. I just selected the "groups" I wanted and copied and pasted onto the time line in the new window - Will confrim all when I try to put them back .. :-)

thanks for the immediate reply - WOW!! K
