Cannot capture video in Pro 15.0

So I'm trying to capture my PS4 with the in-software capture tool, but every time I hit the stop icon after recording I get this message after the capture details and after I hit "OK" it closes out the entire window.

I did notice at the bottom right of the window there's an "Available Time" that sometimes turns red when the recorded time exceeds it. Is this just an issue of space? If so, how do I change save locations for completed recordings?

I'm also unsure of whether I can record with multiple audio sources. It looks like you can switch which audio device you want the program to record but you can't have multiple. I basically want to record:

  • Game footage
  • Game audio
  • Microphone audio

at the same time. What I was doing, and seemed to work at first, was start recording the PS4 with the Vegas recorder and quickly switch to Vegas to hit record for the audio track. I always have to do something in the game to sync it with my voice, though since they did not start recording at the same time.

That wouldn't be so bad, if it weren't for the desync... It seems that using this method, slowly but surely, the game + game audio and our audio track becomes desynced over time (meaning that by the time we've reached 30 minutes into a rendered video theres a clear second delay at least.

I'm sorry if this isn't the right place to post this but I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. Everywhere I look online for answers the person needing help is always in a slightly different situation than I am and therefore the answers don,t seem to help my situation.

I am well aware of my ignorance with this kind of stuff and would appreciate any kind of advice or instruction. If you need any more details I would happily provide them.

Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-bit

Also, for anyone curious, and for more information:

this is the details of the video in question that slowly desyncs. Now I have heard it might be because of the bitrate, but I have no idea where to even start if that's the issue.

Have you tried capturing with Open Broadcaster Studio (OBS)
Might be simpler to bypass VP for something that has one purpose and just works.

System 1:

Windows 10
i9-10850K 10 Core
128.0G RAM
Nvidia RTX 3060 Studio driver [most likely latest]
Resolution        3840 x 2160 x 60 hertz
Video Memory 12G GDDR5

System 2:

Lenovo Yoga 720
Core i7-7700 2.8Ghz quad core, 8 logical
16G ram
Intel HD 630 gpu 1G vram
Nvidia GTX 1050 gpu 2G vram

Okay, nevermind my last post lol I'm an idiot and didn't mess around with the sources enough. You can record through a capture card, but it's not under "Game Capture" instead it's under "Video Capture Device"

Egg on my face. I'll try this out now and see where this goes.

Edit: Well I got it to record my voice and footage well enough, but the audio is choppy. I've tried messing around in the settings but I'm not sure what's wrong.

Edit 2: It was the hertz. Set it to 48khz and it sounds good now.

Edit 3: Nah, the music still stutters and it's pixelated to heck. I've tried to set several different encoders at different bitrates each but no luck...

Just do what @michael-harrison suggested and use OBS--its freeware. Vegas was never designed for such captures.
