Cannot capture with Canon Elura 50

Although I connect the camera to my firewire port, I did it after opening the video capture app, before opening the video capture app, pressing play, etc., and althoug in video menu appears Microsoft DV driver, the video capture app keeps saying preview off and the control bar (play, etc.) remains greyed.
Any ideas on how to capture video with this camera ?

Hiyah! I don't have your CDanon, but I do have the XM2. This works fine. Do you have "Enable Device Control" checked in Capture > Prefs > General ? In fact do you have the Prefs that you want? Are you absolutley sure you are in one of 2 Capture functions and NOT the Print To Tape menu?
