Cannot Customize Frame Size for ProRes??

William-Wall wrote on 2/26/2026, 5:41 PM

Hello!

I "upgraded" from Vegas Pro 20 to 23, and am perplexed why I can't customize frame size or frame rate to render Prores anymore... I assume they changed their license agreement with Apple? Okay fine. But how do I render a 10 bit file with a custom frame size now (cinemascope)? Every other option I see is 4.2.0. 8 bit. My goal is to make file masters for scenes for a feature film, so minimum 10 bit is mandatory. I've had no answer from official support for over a week now, so any help from the community would be really appreciated! ~Will

If I remember this is a bug that is due to be fixed at the next update, no one knows exactly when but likely soon.

I don't think there's a license change but a bug in the interface.

Thank you both! I'll make sure I have the latest version, otherwise I guess I have to be patient.

I don't remember if VP20 has ProRes export capability, but theoretically, if you still have VP20, and ProRes export available, make the render template in VP20, save that render template, and try open in VP23, and use it.

(Only in theory, haven't been tested)
