Cannot import AVCHD files

I have Movie Studio 16.0, build 158. I run Windows 10 64 bit. I have in the past been able to add AVCHD media to projects. These media files come from my Sony HD video camera. Lately, when I try to add ACVHD media to my project, I immediately get a Problem Report which says Movie Studio has stopped working. It then crashes. Interestingly, I am able to add GoPro media (MP4 format) without any problem. Has anyone seen this or have suggestions to correct?

Yes EricLNZ, it is 5.1 channel. Thank you for the link. I didn't have Windows update KB500842 on my PC as far as I could tell, but I did have KB5001330 installed. When I uninstalled that, I was again able to import AVCHD files into Movie Studio 16. Not sure what this means for the future though. I can't avoid Windows updates forever. Cheers.
