I am currently using Vegas Pro Version 23.0 (Build 302) and I cannot import *.avi, *.mkv, and some other formats. Is there something my system could be missing. Is anybody else experiencing this? Thanks for any help –Phil

You may be missing specific codecs that you used to have? Or they just aren't supported formats.

In the future you might try some more modern codecs and skip video for Windows and other archaic ones. If you want lossless something like MagicYUV could work well. ProRes is also common. AVC in an MP4 or MOV container is a universally supported compressed format. For audio, MP3 isn't commonly used in video these days. PCM WAV is the gold standard.
