@studio-morris You bought a licence for VEGAS Pro 23. Until the release of VEGAS Pro 24, VEGAS Pro 23 is going to receive free updates, new builds of VP23. Sometimes before an update is officially released, developers let users try a test version or "beta" of the next update. VEGAS Pro 23 302 was such a test version until it was officially released today. Coincidentally this update fixed the problem that you had.

A public (or private) beta is a release that is to be tested and then officially released. Usually, beta software is changed if there are "show stopper" bugs, and there usually isn't the "normal" expectation of it being an officially released version to the public.

Most software companies alpha and then beta test software before public distribution. A lot of issues and bugs are caught that way, although not all of them. When there is a public beta, the developers have a far greater range of computer builds that can test.
