Cannot locate DVD NTSC template

I've got an hour-long project that I created in VV4. All files are avi. When I got to reading about putting together a menu-based DVD, I noticed they recommend saving everything as MPEG-2 before bringing it into DVD architect. I looked everywhere and cannot find this template. When I go to the 'render as' drop window in VV4, it does appear as an option, but when I select it, it indicates 'no template exists'. It doesn't give any information. I then went to project properties and at the top there was the 'template' drop window. Nothing for DVD. I think I'm looking for DVD NTSC aren't I? I would prefer to render these segments in the appropriate format as suggested but just cannot seem to figure out how. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

In the "Render As" dialog, you should be able to select "Main Concept MPEG-2" as the type, and then in the templates, you should have a whole bunch of "DVD" templates. The one you want is "DVD Architect NTSC Video Only" (or something like that).

Of course, you can always just bring the .AVIs into DVD Architect, and let it do the rendering for you. Many people prefer that method.

Thanks. I did wind up bringing the avi's into Architect and rendered it there. However, when I went to 'burn' to DVD, after about 1 or 2 seconds, it prompted:

Unknown Error (8004e002h)

When I clicked on 'details', it read:

'SFMMCX'-(17)
'atapi'-(1)
-SONY DVD RW DRU-500A 2.0c'-(1)
Module mmc.cpp Line 831

Status: 00000000
Command:
Sense:00 00 00
Info: 00 00 00 00
Specific: 00 00 00

I don't know what this means. I did look thoroughly in the 'templates' drop window and there was absolutely NOTHING for DVD. I was quite perplexed at that because it says it is supposed to be there.
