Cannot Open .avi (MP4)

I am a new user of Vegas Pro 13. I'm not understanding why I can open some MP4 files but not others. For example this opens:

Codec: H264-MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) (avc1)

but this won't:

Codec: MPEG-4 video (DX50)

Both files play perfectly in Videolan and I copied the codec info from that program.

Is there any way to get Vegas to open these files?

Its DIVX.
Get the codec.

I installed divx10 but still cannot open any DivX files in Vegas.

I did find some older posts re this issue from 2011 that indicated that there was (is?) no current 64 bit version of DivX. This was in relation to Vegas Pro 9 and the recommendation was to run the 32 bit version of Vegas (even on a 64 bit version of Win7).

Is there such a thing as a 32 bit version of Vegas Pro 13? I'm not seeing it.
