Cannot open Vegas 20 due to an error 0xc000007b

Hey everyone,

I am really desperate to fix this issue. I have been trying for 2 days in a row

I bought the Vegas Edit and after installing it I could not open the program cause the file msvcp100 was missing. So I searched the internet for it, found it and copied. After that I got the different error that pops up after I try to run the program saying Application cannot be run properly (0xc000007b).

I went through many many hours of looking up tutorials on youtube and reddit to have it fixed, nothing worked.

I have win 10 64 bit purchased and installed for 3 years now.

What have I done to try to fix the issue

- Manually install every directx as well as run the end-suer runtimers

- Same with net frameworks (I have the latest 4.8.1)

- Same with redist c++, I have everything I can

- Tried to scan and repair system files, disc space, gp update etc via CMD

- Netframeworks are turned on in the Windows features

- Nvidia drivers are up to date

- Vegas is running on administrator

- Tried to run it in a compatibility mode

- Windows is up to date as of 12.12.22

- cleaned out all temp files, all window errors etc.

- I cannot access the error code since the icon is greyed out

- this is the first time I run into this issue after 3 years of having this pc

-Changed to attribute from 2 to 0 in Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows

PC specs:

- AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core 3.59 GHz

- 16,0 GB DDR 5

- Windows 10 Pro

- SSD Samsung evo 970 1TB

- Nvidia Geforce Super 2060 RTX

It would be awesome if I could get this running. If not I will have to cancel the sub. Could any of you please advise me what to do?

Thank you Roger for your quick response, althought It didnt help, I tried one more thing after reading your response. I hope this will help other so it can be marked as resolved after my comment.

What helped in my case was that I downloaded Dependedncy Walker. It is a software that will show you EXACTLY what is the root of the issue when the files are trying to run. After you install it you have to go to view - check the full list. Then open and search for the file you are trying to open, after a while the list will show up and the error will pop up, click ok on the error and in the second table you will see everything that is happening while you are trying to run this file, scroll down untill you reach your first black text instead of red, and in the 8 th column you will see what is the issue. In my case it was some dll files, i copied them (althought I did it like 10 times before) and it worked.

You can also find it in the video called "How to fix 0xc000007b Error for Adobe After Effects[Step-by-step]" on youtube by Adelin Bonheur

I wasted so much time so I hope this will help any future folks to save their and use it on editiing :D Have a great one!
